Welcome to the Studio

We believe everyday life is full of beauty worth noticing, making, and sharing. Our studio is a place to explore that beauty through the things we create and the moments they become part of.

Our Story

Barn Swallow Studio began with two people who have always found a lot of joy in making things with their hands.

Ethan is an industrial designer with a longstanding love of woodworking, ceramics, and just about any new material or process that catches his attention. Amanda began working with pottery in 2018 and spent years developing her own practice.

In 2025, we decided to bring those interests together and build Barn Swallow Studio around a shared idea: Shape Everyday Beauty.

As we thought about what we wanted to make, we kept coming back to the table. Some of our favorite parts of life have always been the moments we share with friends and family around it. Long meals. Good food. Conversations that last longer than expected. People gathered together.

That is what drew us toward tableware and home goods. We want to make things that contribute to those moments and, ultimately, to a life lived with other people.

While our work begins with making, it has always been about people.

Shape Everyday Beauty

We believe everyday life is full of beauty worth noticing, making, and sharing.

Shape Everyday Beauty is the idea behind our work. It describes not only what we make, but how we see the world and what we hope our work can contribute to it.

For us, shaping everyday beauty takes three forms: what we make, what inspires us, and why we do it.
